Old Bags and Curved Sticks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit tax-exempt organization. Your contributions and donations may be tax deductible.
We inspire older adults to engage in physical activities, fostering teamwork and social connections through organized ice hockey, travel tournaments, and social events.
We graciously accept donations that enable our organization to offer enriching activities and events that promote an active lifestyle and that enhance social support systems. We also contribute to local charities.
In addition to providing our programs and events, we also direct fundraising so that we can award financial scholarships to underprivileged youth to enable children to participate in local youth ice hockey programs for children aged ten and under.
Bags & Sticks was formed on February 7, 2025. Within its first year of operation, our charity already has 150+ active members and has funded 5 hockey league teams, funded several travel tournament hockey teams, and hosted various social events -- including fundraisers, membership drives, exclusive member events, golf outings, Happy Hours, brewery tours, private skates, Allen Americans games, raffles, cookouts, hockey equipment sales, giveaways, among other events.
Plans for 2026 include new events including Dallas Renegades football games, pickleball tournament, pub crawl, cigar night, bourbon tasting event, and branded merchandise. Also, in Spring 2026 we created the first-ever adult hockey league in DFW designed specifically for adult seniors (50+) with unique and fun rules paired with social events (aka Savannah Bananas on ice!) which was overwhelmingly over-subscribed, and we launched our own social media platform including a YouTube channel.
